It’s your job to give orders to yourself

Why do most people work for others?

Very few people choose to tell themselves what to do. Most of the time, the majority of people need others to tell them what to do. From birth, we are told what to wear, what to eat, what religion to practice, whom to like and dislike, what career to pursue, etc. We got used to it, to receiving orders.

Do you want to know why this happens? The secret is in how the mind works.

Your mind is an inexhaustible source of energy. How much energy, exactly? Just as a comparison, consider a discovery made by Einstein. He discovered that by splitting an atom, you could generate enough electricity to power an entire city. Only one atom! And the human mind discovered not only this, but also how to control this energy. Imagine how superior our mind is.

Your mind has unlimited power. But it was not made to run on autopilot. It only does what it is told. In other words, your mind needs a boss. Energy is useless unless it is utilized.

Your mind is full of energy. If you do not harness this power, it will be useless—or worse, someone will use it to take advantage of you. If you’re not the boss of your mind, someone else will be.

This phenomenon explains why most people in the world work for others, that is, they choose to be salaried employees. Instead of working for themselves and earning their own money, they work for others for a fixed price. Why? Because it is easier for their minds.

When you work for someone else, you do not need to tell yourself what to do. Business owners, managers and supervisors do it for you. As soon as you join a company, you receive your job description. All you have to do is follow those orders and receive your salary at the end of the month. It’s as simple as that.

But working for yourself means that you have no boss. You are your own boss. You have to tell yourself what to do. And not only that: you also have to tell your employees what to do; they need direction every day. Easy? No. No wonder why many people dream of owning their own businesses but give up as soon as they realize that telling themselves and others what to do is much harder work than being told what to do.

If you want to improve the quality of your life, start by telling yourself what to do. If you give your mind a task with all seriousness of a boss, it will find a way to do it. It is capable, but it needs a foreman.

But if you say to your mind, “This is impossible”, it will simply obey and give up looking for a solution.

Whom has your mind been receiving orders from?
