Many can see the situation they are in, but few accept what comes next.

The path that doesn’t solve

Faced with the crisis, some hide behind pride and try to show strength. Others look for culprits to justify what they are experiencing. There are still those who seek relief in distractions and fleeting pleasures, in an attempt to forget the pain.

However, none of these reactions transforms the situation. On the contrary, they often only prolong the suffering.

Therefore, through the prophet Joel, God presents a path that contradicts the logic of this world: humble yourself.

The strength of humility

To humble yourself is not weakness. It is to recognise that God is greater, that we need His help and that perhaps there are actions that need to be corrected.

In addition, humility leads us to abandon justifications and to see with sincerity what needs to change. It is an attitude of those who recognise their limitations and place their trust in God.

The second step

After making an inventory of your “never before”, take a moment alone with God. Open your heart sincerely and present to Him your worries, fears, pains and doubts.

If there are mistakes to confess, confess them. If you don’t understand the reason for the situation, show your confidence that He can help you.

When prayer is sincere, the heart finds relief and the soul begins to rest in the certainty that God has heard.

Thus, what today seems like an unsolvable problem can become a testimony of overcoming. After all, the “never before” can, by faith, become “never again”.
