The power of a covenant with God

Hello Bishop!

I was digesting, thinking, meditating about what we were taught at the pastors’ meeting this past Thursday, the 24th, and one of the things that caught my attention was when you spoke about the temptations the Lord Jesus faced in the desert.

There the devil tried every way possible to stop the PERFECT SACRIFICE from taking place. And one of the weapons he used was doubt.

Today, many people ask us how to overcome the doubts bombarding their minds every day.

Some appeared to be so firm, so strong, so sure of themselves, but a thought whispered by the devil caused them to crumble in the faith.

The main questions are: “How do I overcome doubt? What weapon should I use when the devil tries to persuade me with his inflammable information in my mind?”

Know that we are all subject to being tempted to doubt, but there is a glorious example that the Lord Jesus left us when He was SACRIFICED on the cross.

In Luke 23, from verse 35 to 43, we read how the devil tempted the Lord Jesus to doubt several times:

And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.” Luke 23.35

…If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself. Luke 23.37

Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.” Luke 23.39

Doubt, through the “if”, tried to prevent the Lord Jesus from accomplishing the purpose for which He was sent. But He was the SACRIFICE, so no doubt had the power to stop Him from doing the will of the Father.

Jesus told one of the criminals who cried out for mercy, at that important moment of the plan for the Salvation of humanity, that this man would be in Paradise with Him. There was no doubt who He was, is, and will be forever!

Sacrifice, through a covenant with God, gives us this power: the power to overcome by WHAT IS WRITTEN! The power to doubt doubt! The power to be a SACRIFICE.

If you’ve been asking yourself how to overcome the doubts that both plague you and keep you from surrendering yourself on the Altar, here is the answer you longed for: be the sacrifice yourself through a covenant with God! By doing so, the power will be within you and not in the Bible that you carry under your arm or have open in your living room.

Make a covenant with God on the Altar!
